Let's have a little fun with a Get to Know Our Team trivia series
Over the next few months, we’re kicking off a fun new series to help you get to know the faces behind the feed. Each newsletter from now until December will feature a mystery team member and a few very important questions – like their go-to snack or what they love most about working in social media. 🤳🍦
Think you can guess who this first team member is?
What’s your favorite dessert/snack? Almond croissant. What’s your favorite way to unwind after work? Taking care of my plants or reading. Go-to coffee order? Iced americano with brown sugar and a splash of oat milk. What emoji would best describe you as a person? 🤭 Morning person or night owl? Morning person. Least favorite social media trend that’s ever gone viral? Anything rage bait-y. Favorite social media trends that has gone viral? Most recently: “Nothing beats a jet2 holiday…”, they’re so good and all so different so they don’t get overly repetitive. Most used shortcut, hack, or tip in your daily workflow? Airdrop between iPhone and MacBook. I literally use it 100 times a day. If you could swap jobs with anyone for a day, who would it be? I’d love to be an OPI nail polish namer for a day. What’s one piece of advice you’d give someone new to marketing/social media? Not every trend or trending audio will serve you. If you have to force it, it’s probably not right for your brand. What’s one thing you love most about working in social media? I love the outlet for creativity it provides!

Proud partner shoutout!
This year, we had the honor of partnering with the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts for the first time — and it was one of the most energizing, rewarding experiences we’ve had as an agency. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a vibrant event right here in our Happy Valley backyard. And even luckier to play a small role in helping it shine online. This was a full team effort from start to finish — and it couldn’t have happened without: ✨ Katey, leading event account management with organizational brilliance 📸 Sara, capturing visuals and the small, meaningful moments that make an event unforgettable 🎨 Amanda, bringing clarity and accessibility to jam-packed schedules and programming 🔍 Devin, asking the right questions — the kind that elevate every piece of content we create It’s partnerships like these that remind us just how powerful community storytelling can be.

What’s new in social media?
Is Facebook favoring posts without links?
In short – yes, to some extent. While it’s not exactly a new development, Facebook’s algorithm has consistently favored content that keeps users engaged on the platform. That means posts with external links (like blog articles or product pages) can sometimes see reduced reach, simply because they direct users away from Facebook.
Some marketers have adapted by placing links in the first comment instead of the main caption. It’s a clever workaround, but not always practical, especially for businesses that rely on post scheduling tools that don’t support scheduling comments.
One article we reviewed suggested another "workaround" for getting past the algorithm. But let’s be honest – how long until Facebook catches on and adjusts again?
Here at the agency, we’re actively testing different formats – links in captions vs. comments – and analyzing the results. Stay tuned for our findings!
It's all part of the ever-evolving game that is social media marketing. 😉

Amanda joined the Hello Social Co. team in 2018. A creative and visualizer, Instagram and Pinterest are her favorite platforms. To her, there’s nothing more satisfying than a well-curated Instagram timeline that reflects the aesthetics of the client's brand backed by a well-constructed strategy.
She brings a BSJ in Advertising from West Virginia University to the table and originally got her start in traditional print media but quickly learned that social media was more for her with its ever-evolving features, more casual atmosphere and, of course, the ability to interact directly with an audience. When not working on client projects, you can still find Amanda behind the lens of an iPhone taking photos and videos for her personal social media, cruising Pinterest looking for home improvement projects and Focusing on Local throughout Frederick, Maryland.
When you hear “destination marketing,” what comes to mind? Maybe it’s sharing eye-catching Instagram photo ops, the newest restaurants, or a list of can't-miss attractions. Sure, those elements are part of the story but they’re not the whole story. We believe destination and community marketing is more than promotion. It’s about building bridges between residents and visitors, businesses and neighbors, local culture and wider audiences. It’s about creating a sense of belonging, even from...

We hope you’ve had a beautiful start to spring! When it hasn't been raining, our team has been soaking up fresh air and exploring the outdoors. A few team members recently took a road trip to the Quehanna Wild Area, a stunning 50,000-acre preserve tucked within the PA Wilds. If you’re looking for an easy, peaceful hike, check out the Beaver Run Impoundment Loop — we even spotted a bald eagle nesting!
